Stress, more noticeable now in the lives of busy women than ever before, takes a toll mentally, physically, emotionally, and socially. It is a plague that reaches out and squeezes the happiness and health out of us. Increasingly, surveys and physicians report that women turn to medication and other unhealthy behaviors because of stress. For example, a recent study found a 12.5 per cent increase annually in prescriptions for benzodiazapenes—medicines that are used to treat panic disorder.
